Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the Blopu block puzzle game (the website, the installable app and store versions) keeps, why it uses it and how you can delete it. In short: we keep the minimum needed to run the game, we never sell it, and you can delete it at any time.

Information kept on your phone

Your settings (language, theme, sound), level progress, stars and scores are first stored in your phone's own storage. Single-player modes also work offline.

Information kept on the server

For the leaderboard, online matches and friends, some information is stored on Google Firebase servers:

• Guest account: The first time you open the game you automatically get an anonymous guest ID. No email or password is asked.
• Sign in with Google (optional): If you sign in with Google to move your progress to another device, your Google account ID and email address are kept in Firebase for signing in. Your email is never shown to other players.
• Sign in with Apple or email (optional): If you create an account with Apple or with an email and password, your Apple account ID or email address is kept in Firebase for signing in; the password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. With Apple you can choose to hide your real email.
• Profile: Your username, the player number given to you, your avatar, your country (guessed from your phone's language setting; you can change or hide it in your profile), your scores, stars, highest level, rank points and wins/losses.
• Online matches: During a match your board, score, moves and the emojis you send are passed to your opponent. They are deleted when the match ends or when you disconnect.
• Friends: Your friend code, your friend list, whether the app is open (online dot) and pending room invites.

What other players see

On the leaderboard and in matches, other players see your username, avatar, country flag, scores and rank points. Players on your friend list can see whether your app is open. You don't have to use your real name.

What we don't collect

• We don't use your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
• The game has no ads and doesn't use an advertising ID.
• No analytics or tracking tools are used.

Why we use this information

Only to run the game: to show the leaderboard, find opponents, let you play with friends and move your progress between devices. We don't sell your information or share it with anyone for advertising.

Service provider

The servers are provided by Google Firebase (Google). Online match data is processed on servers in Europe (Belgium). While providing the service, Google may process technical information such as your IP address under its own privacy policy.

To stop fake requests to the servers, the game uses Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at technical signals from your browser; Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. To count visits, the website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify you.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

Your profile is kept until you delete your account. Match data is temporary. You can delete your information at any time:

• In the game, open Profile → Delete profile data (or Delete account and data if you have an account). This deletes the data on your phone, your profile on the server, your friend list and your account.
• Or email us at the address below and we'll delete it for you.

Children

Blopu is suitable for all ages. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The game never asks for a real name, email or phone number. If you'd like your child's information deleted, please email us.

Your rights

You have the right to know what information is kept about you, to correct it and to ask for it to be deleted (GDPR and similar laws). Just email us.

Changes

If a new feature such as ads is added to the game, this page will be updated beforehand and the date will change.
